Mobile Concierge Programme

Press Release

The NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner announced tonight at the Official Opening Ceremony of CeBIT at the Sydney Opera House the successful applicants to deliver on the Collaborative Solutions initiative, Mobile Concierge. This program is intended to develop innovative and new-to-market mobile solutions for the tourism and retail sectors.

“The 11 successful consortiums to receive funding under the Collaborative Solutions program include some of the biggest names in technology development – multinationals like Google, Microsoft, Nokia and Singtel Optus – who will team with technology start-ups and retail, tourism and cultural organisations in exciting cross-sector collaborations,” Mr Stoner said.
“Each consortium will be led by a NSW ICT company which will develop and pilot the new solutions in this State.”

Salt IT is proud to be a member of the successful Smart City consortium which will implement a Near Field Communications (NFC) driven transaction platform for electronic retail and municipality services. The consortium partners are ST Microelectronics, Parramatta City Council, SGS Technologies and Salt IT.

Press Release

The Salt transacting platform has been included in tender submission for the NFC programme being undertaken by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. This programme sought collaborative proposals for the deployment of an Interoperable Mobile Near Field Communications (NFC) Infrastructure and Payment Services via a Trusted-Third-Party (TTP).

The Salt platform is seen as a mechanism to increase the security and utility of the NFC payments infrastructure. The IDA is currently evaluating proposals prior to announcing the commencement of the implementation phase.
